Scruggs Typeface

My goal in designing Scruggs was to create a typeface that looks great at both display and text sizes. I wanted it to have a friendly and somewhat quirky character. To give the font these qualities I used a wedge-shaped serif, rounded corners, and a tail-like stroke terminal. I really focused on making each letter interesting and eloquent. It has a nice texture and color at text sizes and at large sizes it’s graceful curves look beautiful. Now that the lowercase is complete the challenge will be to create the uppercase and numbers with the same amount of character as the lowercase.
